Sorensen, 29, originally was drafted in the 10th round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators. However, he decided to spend the first few years as a professional in the Djugardens organization. After his rights expired with the Senators, he signed an entry-level contract with the Sharks in 2016.
