NBC Sports California begins its 2020-21 NHL regular season Sharks coverage with the SEASON OPENER on Thursday, January 14, as the Sharks travel to face the realigned West Division rival Arizona Coyotes live from Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. Opening Night coverage begins at 5:30 pm PT with Sharks Pregame Live featuring host/13-time regional Emmy Award winner Brodie Brazil (@BrodieNBCS) with expert analysis via former Sharks center/13-year NHL veteran Curtis Brown (@DocBrown37). In addition, former Sharks defenseman/16-year NHL veteran Scott Hannan will also provide studio analysis for select Sharks games this season. The Opening Night edition of Sharks Pregame Live will provide viewers with a complete game night preview featuring roster match-up breakdowns, the latest team news and interviews with Sharks players and coaches, a recap of all the off-season moves and much more. Opening Night game action gets underway at 6:00 pm PT.
Returning to NBC Sports California’s Sharks game coverage will be multiple regional Emmy Award winner/play-by-play announcer Randy Hahn (@sharkvoice) and 17-year standout NHL defenseman/veteran analyst Bret Hedican (@BretHedican). The season opener and every Sharks game telecast on NBC Sports California will be immediately followed by Sharks Postgame Live presented by Toyota. Hosted by Brazil, featuring detailed analysis from Brown, Sharks Postgame Live will deliver live coverage of new Sharks Head Coach Bob Boughner’s post-game press conference, along with post-game player reaction, expanded highlights, upcoming game previews and more. NOTE: The Sharks home opener will take place on Monday, February 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights.
