NHL free agency rumors: Latest news, reports, updates, trade chatter

The wait is over.

Following the St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup title, all the talk in the NHL has centered around the upcoming free agent market, with the Sharks playing a central role in the festivities. 

San Jose already re-signed defenseman Erik Karlsson to a massive eight-year contract, and traded blueliner Justin Braun. 

Former Shark Patrick Marleau was traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Carolina Hurricanes and subsequently bought out, causing the talk of a potential reunion to grow even louder.

Then, of course, there is Joe Pavelski, Joonas Donskoi and Gustav Nyquist, all of whom are unrestricted free agents and reportedly could take their talents elsewhere.

4:00 p.m. PT: Tyson Barrie is headed to Toronto as part of a multi-player trade between the Avalanche and Maple Leafs.

3:05 p.m. PT: Carolina netminder Peter Mrazek has re-signed with the Hurricanes on a two-year deal.

3:05 p.m. PT: Former Islanders goaltender Robin Lehner has found a new home with the Blackhawks on a one-year contract.

2:55 p.m. PT: The Islanders have a new netminder after signing Semyon Varlamov to a four-year deal.

2:50 p.m. PT: The Islanders have re-signed their captain Anders Lee to a seven-year contract.

2:00 p.m. PT: Joakim Ryan is staying in the Pacific division, leaving the Sharks for the Kings.

12:15 p.m. PT: The Canadiens reportedly have submitted an offer sheet for Hurricanes' restricted free agent Sebastian Aho.

11:15 a.m. PT: Defenseman Anton Stralman is staying in the state of Florida, going from the Lightning to the Panthers.

11:15 a.m. PT: Veteran winger Wayne Simmonds is signing a one-year contract with the Devils.

10:45 a.m. PT: The Florida Panthers have signed goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to a seven-year contract.

10:45 a.m. PT: Longtime Sharks' nemesis Corey Perry will be joining Pavelski in Dallas.

9:55 a.m. PT: Another Sharks winger -- Gustav Nyquist -- has agreed to a four-year deal with Columbus.

9:50 a.m. PT: Former Sharks winger Joonas Donskoi has agreed to a four-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche.

9:40 a.m. PT: The Vancouver Canucks have agreed to a five-year contract with Tyler Myers.

9:30 a.m. PT: Defenseman Tim Heed is re-signing with the Sharks on a one-year deal.

9:30 a.m. PT: Matt Duchene has agreed to a seven-year deal with the Nashville Predators.
