Patrick Marleau goes from Sharks to Penguins, his favorite team as kid

Meant to be?

If and when Patrick Marleau enters the Hockey Hall of Fame, it undoubtedly will be in a Sharks sweater. As San Jose's all-time leader in goals (518), points (1,102) and games played (1,551), the vast majority of his career highlights have come in teal.

The next ones likely won't, however, after Marleau was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday in exchange for a conditional third-round 2021 draft pick. As it turns out, long before he became a fan favorite in San Jose, Marleau himself was a big fan of his new club.

His wife, Christina, has the photo evidence to prove it.
