Sharks draw Crosby, Penguins in Stanley Cup Final

The Pittsburgh Penguins are the only ones standing between the Sharks and their first-ever Stanley Cup championship.

The Penguins advanced to the NHL’s final round with a Game 7 win over the Lightning on Thursday night at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, 2-1.

They will have home ice advantage, beginning with Game 1 in the Steel City on Monday.

GAME 2: June 1, Pittsburgh
GAME 3: June 4, San Jose
GAME 4: June 6, San Jose
GAME 5: June 9, Pittsburgh (If necessary)
GAME 6: June 12, San Jose (If necessary)
GAME 7: June 15, Pittsburgh (If necessary)

The Sharks and Penguins split their two-game season series. San Jose won in Pittsburgh on Nov. 21, 3-1, while the Penguins returned the favor at SAP Center just 10 days later on Dec. 1, 5-1.

The Sharks had won 10 straight home games over the Penguins before the most recent meeting. They own a 17-3-3 record against them in the last 23 head-to-head matchups overall.

San Jose eliminated the Kings, Predators and Blues in advancing to the first-ever Stanley Cup Final in the 25-year history of the franchise. The Penguins got past the Rangers and Capitals before beating the Lightning.
