The San Jose Sharks may not be facing familiar nemesis Pekka Rinne as they visit the Nashville Predators this Tuesday evening. They will, however, be going up against Juuse Saros – and Team Teal is also well acquainted with the Predators backup netminder.

The last time the Sharks visited the Predators was for a late-season matchup in March 2018. In that game, Saros made 39 saves in Nashville’s 5-3 victory. The win gave the young Finnish goalie a 9-5-7 record, .925 save percentage and 2.46 goals-against average for his 2017-18 campaign.

With Rinne currently sidelined with an undisclosed injury, San Jose faces off with Saros yet again. And again, he’s in the midst of a hot streak. The 23-year-old has tallied a win in all four of his appearances thus far this season, including a 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on October 19 where he came into the game to relieve Rinne in the third frame. Saros has allowed five goals on the early season, and already made a staggering 86 saves. He’s currently sitting on a .945 save percentage.

With Rinne on IR with an injury he sustained during that tilt against the Flames, the Predators have recalled former San Jose Sharks’ netminder Troy Grosenick. Sharks fans may remember Grosenick from his NHL debut in 2014 when he filled in for then-starter Antti Niemi and made 45 saves on his way to a 2-0 shutout over the Carolina Hurricanes.
