Evander Kane was cleared by an NHL investigation looking into allegations of gambling on Sharks games, but the forward remains away from the organization due to an unrelated inquiry by the league.
Several of Kane's teammates were made available to the media Thursday as training camp opened in San Jose, and kept their comments to a minimum on the absent veteran.
"I don't have any comment on that, any open investigation I'm not going to comment on," Sharks captain Logan Couture said Thursday. "My opinion is what happens in the dressing room stays in the room, so I’m not going to comment on that."

"That's stuff again that we can't control, we're here, we're all excited to be here and you know we work with what we have and the other stuff is not for me to comment on," Erik Karlsson told reporters Thursday.
The newest investigation into Kane centers around "additional unrelated allegations of potential wrongdoing," the NHL's statement read.
Kane's estranged wife, Anna, filed a domestic violence restraining order Tuesday in Santa Clara County Family Court alleging physical and mental abuse by the Sharks winger.

The Sharks released a statement Tuesday that Kane and the organization agreed that the 30-year-old would not be participating in training camp "until further notice."
“It’s not ideal, but there is an ongoing investigation from the NHL,” general manager Doug Wilson said h/t Associated Press). “The focus has to be on our group here, the guys that are here today and the things that we can control, but also respect the process of dealing with some very serious allegations and some things that need to be addressed with the right process.”
Kane led the Sharks with 22 goals and 27 assists last season.
