Sharks receive 2022 fifth-round pick in multi-team trade

Sharks Golden Knights

Sharks general manager Doug Wilson has made it clear his focus for San Jose is on the future. That was obvious Monday ahead of the Noon PT NHL trade deadline.

After acquiring goalie prospect Magnus Chrona from the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Sharks received a 2022 fifth-round draft pick from their rivals, the Vegas Golden Knights, less than an hour later, the team announced.

The Golden Knights received the Buffalo Sabres' fifth-round pick in a multi-team trade, and Vegas then moved that to the Sharks.

The Sharks sent defenseman Nick DeSimone to the Golden Knights to complete the deal.
