The Sharks and Minnesota Wild have a lot on the line Monday night, but neither team will want to reveal much.
San Jose is just a point back of first place in the Pacific Division and the Western Conference, with a game in hand on the Calgary Flames. Minnesota, meanwhile, is a point ahead of the Arizona Coyotes for the West's second and final wild-card spot. The Desert Dogs have a game in hand, so the Wild need to keep winning.
Plus, the possibility remains that the Sharks and Wild could face off in the playoffs. Monday's end result would be a setback to seeing that matchup, the first between the two franchises, but not quite an insurmountable one.
