Watch Erik Karlsson pick corner, finally score first goal with Sharks

SAN JOSE — Well, it finally happened.

Erik Karlsson, the Sharks' big preseason acquisition, scored his first goal in a teal sweater Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues.

The Sharks were on the second of back-to-back power play attempts just a few minutes into the second period at SAP Center. Karlsson stood in the high slot when Blues goaltender Chad Johnson kicked a rebound onto his stick. His subsequent one-timer gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead.

Karlsson extended his point streak to three games with the goal, and he added another point later in the period. Karlsson set up Evander Kane for San Jose’s third goal on the evening.

Saturday marked Karlsson's second consecutive game with (at least) two points, after the defenseman picked up two assists in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
