Timo Meier's third goal of the Stanley Cup playoffs was the charm to add to his highlight reel.
The Sharks winger deked through the St. Louis Blues defense in Game 1 of the Western Conference final on Saturday and then got the SAP Center crowd on its feet with a Peter Forsberg-esque finish that doubled San Jose's second-period lead.

Meier's first goal was the Sharks' fourth of Game 1, and San Jose achieved a relative rarity through the first 30-or-so minutes. Rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington led the Blues' push to the postseason and only allowed four goals or more in a game five times during the regular season and Stanley Cup playoffs prior to Saturday. The Blues had only won one of those games: a 5-4 victory over the cellar-dwelling Anaheim Ducks in March.
Just over seven minutes after Meier's first, he scored a second thanks to a fortuitous bounce off of Blues defenseman Vince Dunn's skate.

Prior to Saturday, Binnington had allowed five goals in a game only once, back on April 14. The second time has the Sharks well on their way to a one-games-to-none series lead in the Western Conference final.
