It's only the second matchweek of the Premier League season, but that doesn't mean it's too early for a measuring-stick game.

Reigning title winners Liverpool (1-0-0; 3 points) travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to take on Chelsea (1-0-0; 3 points) and their embarrassment of attacking riches.

The Reds beat promotion darlings Leeds United 4-3 in the first week of the season, setting a high bar in the match of the year race. New signing Thiago Alcantara will be available for selection. With matches against Arsenal, resurgent Everton and Manchester City looming over the next month, Liverpool will look to start a daunting run on the right foot.

The Blues, meanwhile, unconvincingly beat Brighton 3-1 last week. Some growing pains are to be expected, and manager Frank Lampard got highly touted signings Timo Werner and Kai Havertz' debut out of the way last week. New boys Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell won't feature against Liverpool, however, and neither will American star Christian Pulisic. Still, Chelsea can make a real statement against the champions.
