The NBA on Tuesday announced its opening-week national TV schedule, as well as its Christmas Day slate. And to no surprise, the Warriors are heavily featured across the board.
After facing the Lakers in Los Angeles in a marquee matchup to open the 2021-22 NBA season on Tuesday, Oct. 19, Steph Curry and the Warriors will face the Los Angeles Clippers for their home opener at Chase Center on Thursday, Oct 21. Both games will start at 7 p.m. PT.
The Warriors also will play on Christmas Day for the ninth consecutive season. Golden State heads to Phoenix on Dec. 25 to play Chris Paul, Devin Booker and the defending Western Conference-champion Suns, with tip-off set for 2 p.m PT. The Suns took two of three matchups against the Warriors last season.
After missing the playoffs for two straight years, the Warriors have championship aspirations for the 2021-22 campaign. With Klay Thompson coming back from a two-year injury hiatus and a core group led by Curry, Draymond Green and the returning Andre Iguodala, Golden State has its eyes on being one of the top threats in the West.
These early-season national TV games against the Lakers, Clippers and Suns should give us a good glimpse of where the Warriors stand compared to other Western Conference contenders.
