Now that the NBA’s bizarre 2019-20 season has come to an end, it’s already time to look ahead to next year, with no team more excited to put a bow on this abbreviated campaign than the last-place Warriors.

After a dismal, injury-plagued season, the Warriors are expected to return to championship contention. Looking ahead to whenever next year’s finals will take place, Golden State has some of the best odds at taking home the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ clinching of this year’s NBA title, the Warriors have the fourth-best odds at winning the 2021 NBA Finals, with +750 odds (a $100 bet wins you $750).

The Warriors trail the Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers, respectively, for the best chances at winning next year's title (odds provided by our partner, Pointsbet).

Los Angeles Lakers: +375

Los Angeles Clippers: +425

Milwaukee Bucks: +650

Warriors: +750

The Miami Heat, who lost to the Lakers in six games in the 2020 NBA Finals, have the seventh-best odds at +1300.

The dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis made the Lakers an unstoppable force in the NBA bubble, and that likely will continue into next season, as you can’t count LeBron out as a championship contender with just about any roster.

Milwaukee is coming off an incredible regular season that was spoiled by an upstart Heat team in the playoffs, and if Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of this core comes back healthy, they likely will be the most talented team in the Eastern Conference.

The Clippers, currently without a head coach after Doc Rivers’ departure this offseason, still have two of the game’s most talented players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, along with a deep and experienced supporting cast.

We haven’t even solidified the full schedule for next season or determined whether fans will be allowed to attend games as the coronavirus pandemic continues, but the Warriors will be among the most talented teams in the NBA with Klay Thompson and Steph Curry on the court together.

It appears that the oddsmakers agree.
