As Jeremy Lin and Nico Mannion tore it up in the Santa Cruz Warriors' eighth straight win Sunday, Alen Smailagic's wasn't quite as memorable.
Smailagic did find a way to go viral again, just not for the right reasons.
The 20-year-old big man tried to go full Stretch Armstrong on a dunk attempt, and that didn't exactly work out. The rim had other plans for Smiley.
Smailagic scored just two points in Santa Cruz's 109-104 win over the Austin Spurs. He went 1-for-3 from the field in 20 minutes, and missed his only 3-point attempt. The 6-foot-10 Serbian grabbed three rebounds and added two assists.
The Warriors selected Smailagic in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft. In six games with Santa Cruz, he's averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
Since being drafted, Smailagic has appeared in just 14 NBA games -- all in the 2019-20 season. He has averaged 4.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in the NBA.
