Andre Iguodala confident Warriors will ‘wreak havoc' on NBA next season

The moment Andre Iguodala was dealt to the Miami Heat at the NBA trade deadline last week, it was obvious Monday night would be a special one at Chase Center.

In a season filled with injuries and losses, the Warriors and their fans would get to honor one of the key cogs in their dynastic run that currently is on pause. The Dubs played a tribute video for the 2015 NBA Finals MVP prior to tip-off, commemorating Iguodala's impact on the court as well as on the Dubs' culture during his six seasons in the Bay Area.

Then, Klay Thompson gave a brief speech about Iguodala's importance to the Warriors' run to five straight NBA Finals before handing the microphone to the veteran wing.

Iguodala thanked Dubs fans for being "loyal," and then made a proclamation about the Warriors' chances to return to the top of the NBA next season.

"From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everybody that supported us -- supported me my entire time here," Iguodala said. "It definitely feels like home -- I just left but it feels like home. I appreciate you guys being loyal Bay Area fans. My brothers will be back in action full throttle next year to wreak havoc on the league for 80 games. Love y'all."

The loss of Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets in June forced the Warriors to make some roster moves in order to stomach the blow. This included trading Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies for a trade exception and acquiring D'Angelo Russell, who they flipped to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Andrew Wiggins and a 2021 first-round draft pick at the deadline.

Iguodala's number will one day hang from the Chase Center rafters, and he's sure to be immortalized with a statue along with Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Thompson and Durant one day.
