Andre working out at Warriors facility; Kerr ‘hopeful' for return

The Warriors still are waiting to hear Andre Iguodala's highly-anticipated decision on whether he will return to play for Golden State in the 2022-23 NBA season.

Iguodala has stated that he finally will announce his decision on the next episode of his "Point Forward" podcast.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday prior to the start of Warriors training camp, coach Steve Kerr was asked what his latest inkling was in regards to Iguodala's decision.

In doing so, Kerr also revealed that the 18-year veteran has been working out at the team facility.

"I'm just hopeful, beyond that I really don't know what Andre is going to do," Kerr said. "He's been in here working out, kind of getting the training staff to work with him and look at him and I think he's getting a feel for what he wants to do and we told him from the beginning take as long as you want.

"So he's taking his time and that's fine. We'll see."

In speaking with The Athletics's Tim Kawakami on an episode of "The TK Show" podcast, Warriors general manager Bob Myers expressed a similar hopeful sentiment. On Sept. 18, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Golden State is expecting Iguodala to return for another season.

Shortly after Kerr's press conference, Iguodala's podcast, "Point Forward" tweeted out an ominous eyeball emoji, indicating that the next episode -- and Iguodala's decision -- is about to drop.

In the age of the internet, a simple eyeball emoji is a clear indicator that big news is imminent.
