Andrew Bogut targeting Warriors return after current four-game road trip

Andrew Bogut's return to the Warriors is right around the corner.

The Australian center will try to debut during Golden State's next homestand beginning March 21, agent David Bauman told the Bay Area News Group's Mark Medina. NBC Sports Bay Area's Logan Murdock confirmed the news.

The Warriors will return home for a three-game stint in a week-and-a-half, which opens with a matchup against the Indiana Pacers. It concludes with a back-to-back against the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons on March 23-24.

Bogut, who previously played with the Warriors from 2012-16 and won an NBA title with the team in 2015, averaged 11.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.7 blocks per game with the NBL's Sydney Kings. He was also named the league's MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.

The 34-year-old has not played in the NBA in over a year, and said he thought his playing days were over stateside.

“To come back to the NBA, for me, was basically Golden State or nothing," Bogut told The New York Times on March 6. "But the fact it was Golden State — it was the kind of opportunity that I would be kicking myself if I didn’t take.”
