Anthony Davis left the Los Angeles Lakers' 121-106 loss to the Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals in a wheelchair due to a head injury.

Davis sustained the injury with 7:34 remaining in the fourth quarter when Warriors center Kevon Looney's left arm made contact with Davis' face while the players battled for a rebound off a missed D'Angelo Russell layup.

Davis was subbed out after the play. He sat on the Lakers' bench for most of the fourth quarter before being wheeled into the locker room.

"Anthony Davis was wheeled out on a wheelchair," reporter Chris Haynes said on the TNT broadcast. "It didn't look good. He had a towel over his head as they were wheeling him away."

Lakers coach Darvin Ham provided a positive update on the star center after the game.

"He seems to be doing really good already," Ham told reporters after the game at Chase Center. "That’s the status of it right now."

Davis scored 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting, but the Warriors -- down 3-1 in the series -- fought back Wednesday night with a convincing 15-point victory. The series, now 3-2, shifts back to Los Angeles for Game 6 at 7 p.m. PT Friday night at Crypto.com Arena.
