Myers reacts to spicy Draymond-Durant offseason interview

Draymond Green and Kevin Durant found themselves making headlines again this offseason when the two sat down for an extended interview that saw them rehashing a handful of infamous moments as Warriors teammates.

One part of the interview that made waves was when the two blamed Warriors management for mishandling their on-court spat that resulted in Green being suspended one game for "conduct detrimental to the team." On Monday at Warriors Media Day, general manager Bob Myers addressed the interview for the first time.

"I haven't seen it, but you can't live and not hear about it," Myers said. "I don't have all that stuff and I just don't watch a lot of things -- heard about it, for sure. It didn't really bother me, to be honest. I have great history with Draymond, I have a great relationship with him. I look at Kevin and Draymond, for that matter, as two unbelievable players.

"I really like both of the guys. I love talking to them, I love being around them. They helped our team, our organization -- Draymond three, Kevin two championships. It's gonna take a lot more than that to be really bothered by it. ... Knowing Draymond, I've seen all kinds of different levels. I love the guy, I really do. And same for Kevin.

"I'm happy that they're buddies. That's all I care about."

Green pointed the finger at the front office, and Durant quickly agreed.

“In my opinion, they f--ked it up,” Green said.

“I think so, too,” Durant said.

Green asked his former teammate how much their argument led to Durant ultimately leaving the Warriors in free agency. Again, Durant didn't blame Green but instead saw others at fault for the response.

“It wasn’t the argument,” Durant said. “It was the way that everybody ... Steve Kerr acted like it didn’t happen. Bob Myers tried to discipline you and think that would put a mask over everything.

“I really felt like that was such a big situation for us as a group, the first time we went through something like that. We had to get this s--t all out.”

It wasn't a good look for Golden State then, and it isn't now. From Myers' point of view, though, all is well with the Warriors.
