Beal not happy, claps back at Bazemore for hamstring joke

Warriors guard Kent Bazemore took a veiled verbal jab at Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal on Monday, in which he referenced the latter while answering a question about Steph Curry's stellar play of late.

"Forty-nine points in 29 minutes, that’s unreal," Bazemore said after Golden State's Monday morning shootaround. “We got guys hurting hamstrings to keep up."

Beal, of course, is in direct competition with Curry for the NBA's scoring title entering the final week of the regular season. The Wizards' All-Star scored 50 points in an overtime win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, but limped to the locker room at its conclusion due to a hamstring injury, which forced Beal to miss Monday's contest against the Atlanta Hawks, and will keep him out of at least one more game.

Beal's wife, Kamiah Adams-Beal, caught wind of the reference and was not at all pleased. Whether she notified her husband or it was someone else, clearly Beal has been made aware, too.

On Monday night, Beal took to Twitter and took his own not-so-veiled jab at Bazemore.

And he was just getting started.

The Warriors and Wizards won't face each other again this season unless they meet in the NBA Finals, which is to say, they will not face each other again this season. So, this might be something to file away until next season.

But if Beal returns from his hamstring injury with a vengeance, that might not be the end of what he has to say in response.
