There has been speculation for months now that the Warriors just might pursue a blockbuster trade for Bradley Beal.
Other teams, such as the Brooklyn Nets, have been mentioned as potential suitors.
But the expectation is that the Washington Wizards have not made the two-time NBA All-Star available because they want to see him and John Wall play together again.

But perhaps the Wizards want everybody to think that's the case to drive up the asking price.
As for the rumors -- do they impact Beal? How much do they distract him?
"When I'm playing and see those things, I don't let it bother me," he said this week on "The Old Man & The Three" podcast. "I feel like early in my career, it probably would have.
"But now, it's a place of just understanding your value, understanding you're wanted -- especially by teams who want to win, teams who want to win a championship."

The Warriors definitely expect to contend for the NBA title next season and beyond, and acquiring a player of Beal's caliber would help put them in position to do that.
If the Wizards put Beal on the market, Golden State has some valuable assets -- including the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 draft and the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2021 top-three protected first-rounder -- to include in a deal.

It's unclear if the front offices have discussed any parameters, but Beal did say something quite interesting on the podcast.
"Teams are trying. A lot of them are calling, a lot of them are inquiring and putting packages together -- trying to see if they can get me," he explained. "That's not a secret. They've been doing that for the last couple of years.
"I don't view it as a distraction. It's kind of a sign of respect and motivation too. Keep doing what you're doing, keep playing hard, keep being the professional that you are. People like that, people are gravitating towards you.
"Understand what you have here (with the Wizards), but understand that you're wanted elsewhere too. So just understanding your value and appreciating it."

Beal certainly has a lot of value. The 27-year-old averaged 30.5 points and 6.1 assists per game last season, while shooting over 35 percent from 3-point range.
He is under contract for two more seasons at about $28.8 million in 2020-21 and $34.5 million the following year, and has a $37.3 million player option in 2022-23.
