Cal hoops, Twitter react to Warriors' Statement Edition uniforms

The Warriors unveiled their Statement Edition uniforms for the 2022-23 NBA season on Tuesday, and while the jury still is out on how the collective fan base feels, Cal's basketball team made its thoughts known.

While the Warriors' new uniforms do bear a striking resemblance to Cal's, some fans are looking forward to seeing the Dubs wear them on the court next season.

That said, the overall reactions were mixed, with other fans noting the uniforms also look like the University of Michigan's.

Despite that, it makes sense why these uniforms were released Tuesday. On Aug. 2, 1971, the team officially changed its name from the San Francisco Warriors to the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors' new jerseys pay tribute to the franchise's long history, bearing "Golden State" across the chest for the first time in 51 years.

At any rate, the Warriors have new uniforms to rock this season as they embark on their quest to repeat as NBA champions.
