CP3, Booker break NBA Finals record set by Steph and Klay

The Phoenix Suns are two wins away from an NBA title thanks in large part to the lights-out play of Devin Booker and Chris Paul.

Phoenix's star-studded backcourt has been on fire in the first two games against the Milwaukee Bucks, scoring 113 points combined in the first two games against the Milwaukee Bucks.

In doing so, Booker and Paul broke the NBA record for most points by a starting backcourt through two Finals games in the last 50 seasons. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson set the record when they scored 106 points in the first two games of their four-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2018.

The Suns also became just the third team in NBA history to hit 20 or more 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game, joining the 2019 Warriors and 2017 Cavaliers.

Paul, Booker and the Suns have had all the answers through the first two games against the Bucks. Now the series shifts to Milwaukee for a critical Game 3.

As for Curry and the Warriors, they are trying to navigate a critical offseason that will determine whether or not they can jump back into legitimate title contention. With Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green all entering the backhalf of their championship prime, it's now or never for the Warriors to ensure they surround their title core with the supporting cast needed to compete with the Suns, Bucks and rest of the NBA elite next season.
