Chris Paul injury makes you wonder if he'll miss Rockets-Warriors game

The Houston Rockets might be without Chris Paul against the Warriors -- again.

The All-Star point guard, who famously missed Games 6 and 7 of the 2018 Western Conference finals with a strained right hamstring, left Thursday night's game in Miami with a strained left hamstring. And it didn't look good.

Hamstring injuries are tricky and, depending on their severity, can require weeks or months of recovery time. Compounding the problem is that Paul missed three games earlier this season with soreness in the same leg.

If Paul hasn't recovered in two weeks, that means he'll miss the Rockets' revenge meeting with the Warriors at Oracle Arena. That would be great news for Golden State, which has allowed Paul to average 22.4 points per game -- his highest mark against any opponent in his 14-year NBA career. He dropped 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots on the Warriors in the Rockets' win last month in Houston.

Still, returning to the scene of last season's biggest disappointment and taking care of business might have been a tonic for Paul, who has struggled with injuries and played 61 and 58 games, respectively, in the past two seasons. If Paul can't play, he'll have to wait until Feb. 23 for his next chance, and considering the 16-15 Rockets' slower-than-expected start to the season, that game might not mean much by then.
