With his 53-point outburst Saturday in New Orleans, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry joined Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West as the only players to score 118 points through the first three games of a season.

Over the last 50 years, only one player has scored at least 163 points through the first four games of a season: Michael Jordan in 1989-90.

If Curry can drop 45 points on the Grizzlies Monday night, he'd equal Jordan's feat.

Jordan began the 1989-90 season by posting point totals of 54, 24, 40 and 45.

So far this season, Curry has scored 40 vs New Orleans, 25 at Houston and the aforementioned 53 against the Pelicans. He's averaging 39.3 points through the first three games.
