Damion Lee appeared to have the game in his hands Friday night at Chase Center, rising to the rim as the Warriors trailed the Washington Wizards by a point.
Deni Avdija met Lee at the rim and, rather than finish, Lee seemingly tried to pass to Andrew Wiggins, open in the left corner. Wizards star Bradley Beal read the play the whole way, however, intercepting Lee's errant pass and sealing Washington's 110-107 win with a pair of free throws at the other end.

Lee was the Warriors' only effective scorer off the bench, posting 10 points, four steals and three rebounds. He finished the night with only one turnover, but that's the play he'll remember most from Friday's loss.
"I slipped out, was open for a second. Draymond made a great pass," Lee explained in his postgame video conference. "Try to make the right basketball play, knowing there was a 2-on-1 on the backside. Turned it over -- I mean, that's totally on me, that's completely on me.
"I gotta be better in those situations, and hold myself to a higher standard. The team holds me to a high standard, and I gotta be better in those situations. Can't cost us the game."
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors' bench scored just six points through three quarters, all of which were Lee's. He added four more points in the fourth, and Golden State was plus-10 in Lee's 6:25 of action in the quarter.

Yet the Warriors have had little room for error all season, and that has been the case during their push for a play-in spot. Since the All-Star break, Golden State is 1-5 in games decided by 10 or fewer points.
Lee's last-second turnover was the latest reminder of those struggles, but he wasn't the only Warrior to end the night with a sinking feeling.
"I've been there," coach Steve Kerr said. "It's a very frustrating position to be in when you have a play at the end, and it doesn't work out. We're all going to lose sleep tonight. I'll lose sleep. I'm sure Damion will, I'm sure all the guys will. It's a really, really tough loss, but we gotta bounce back. We got another game tomorrow night [against the Houston Rockets."
