Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is not shy about posting on social media.
He had some time on his hands Friday morning and posted a hilarious tweet capturing all of the "experts" who predicted his Rockets would lose to the Los Angeles Lakers.
If you are not familiar with "@OldTakesExposed," it is an account that "exposes" people when they make bad sports predictions. It's a must-follow.
With the series between the Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers starting Friday night, Morey wanted to get out in front of the fact that all 20 of ESPN's people who cast a ballot believe the Lakers will advance to the Western Conference finals.
The Warriors eliminated the Rockets from the playoffs four times in the last five seasons (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019). And even with Golden State no longer standing in Houston's way, the folks at ESPN are not giving James Harden's squad a chance.
You got to assume the 2017-18 NBA Executive of the Year will make sure that Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni and all of Houston's players see these predictions. Maybe we find out that Morey assigns somebody the role of printing out the article, making tens of copies and plastering them all over the Rockets' locker room as motivation.
The basketball world is very excited for this Rockets-Lakers matchup, because Houston has abandoned the use of a traditional center. The Lakers, meanwhile, have a massive starting lineup, which consists of Anthony Davis, LeBron James and JaVale McGee (with Dwight Howard coming off the bench).
It will be fascinating to see how the battle of contrasting styles plays out. And yours truly cannot wait to see what "@OldTakesExposed" tweets when the series concludes.
