DeMarcus Cousins allegedly threatened to shoot his former girlfriend, Christy West, one day before the Lakers center married his longtime girlfriend, Morgan Lang.

In an audio clip obtained by TMZ Sports on Tuesday morning, West says Cousins threatened her on Aug. 23 after she refused to let their seven-year-old son attend his wedding to Lang the next day. In the clip, a voice that West claims is Cousins asks twice if he can have his seven-year-old son "here."

West responds, "No, he's not coming."

The voice then threatens to shoot West in the audio clip.

"I'm gonna make sure I put a bullet through your f---ing head," the voice says.

The clip ends there.

According to TMZ, West recorded the video and claims she played the audio for court officials. TMZ reports West has filed court documents in Alabama seeking a restraining order against Cousins. West also claims Cousins told her that he was going to kill her, "even if he didn't have to get his hands dirty doing it."

In the court documents, West reportedly also says that Cousins choked her during a previous incident, but she didn't provide specific details. TMZ says she wants Cousins away from their son, but would allow him to see the child with supervised visitation.

A police spokesperson in Mobile, Ala. told TMZ they have opened an investigation into the allegations.

The Lakers released a statement on the allegations later Tuesday morning.

NBA spokesperson Mike Bass released a statement as well, noting the NBA is looking into the matter.

Cousins was selected by the Kings with the No. 5 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. He spent six-and-a-half seasons in Sacramento and was named to three All-Star Games. The center spent last season with the Warriors.

After one season with Golden State, Cousins signed a one-year contract with the Lakers this offseason. He tore his ACL two weeks ago while playing in Las Vegas.
