Draymond Green comments on Kevin Durant's free agency, guarantees title

Draymond Green isn't sure if Kevin Durant is going to re-sign with Golden State this summer.

But the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year is sure that the Warriors are going to capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy in June.

“He’s part of it right now,” Draymond told The Athletic's Sam Amick when talking about KD's pending free agency. “Whatever happens this summer happens. Whatever the hell he do, he does. If he go, he go. If he stay, he stay.

"But while he’s here, we’re going to win another championship. It’s just that simple. Nothing else matters.”

Okie dokie.

Simple enough.

Although the Warriors have had their fair share of turmoil throughout the season, they just notched very impressive back-to-back wins at Houston and Oklahoma City. And they did it with Kevin Durant sidelined because of a sore ankle (KD will play Monday night against the Spurs).

The Warriors enter Monday's action with a one-game lead over the Nuggets for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. It legitimately looks like they are starting to come together.

“Like I said in the beginning of the season, when the s--t happened with me and Kevin, everybody hopes that something like that would tear us apart,” Green told Amick. “But the fact of the matter is it’s not. And until somebody can come and beat us, it don’t matter.

"If I was on the other team, I’d hope some s--t like that would tear us apart too."
