Draymond gives Grizzlies' Jones ‘too small' gesture after layup

Draymond Green didn’t need to use words to send a message during Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals on Friday night.

During the first quarter of the Warriors’ close-out game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the crowd at Chase Center went wild for Green as he powered past Tyus Jones and made a layup to give Golden State an early, one-point lead.

Green, standing at 6-foot-6, sent fans further into a frenzy as he bent toward the ground and gave Jones the “too small” gesture.

Green has a half-foot advantage over the Grizzlies’ backup point guard, who has made an impact on the court for Memphis in the absence of superstar Ja Morant

But in the early minutes of Game 6, Green reminded Jones whose arena he was in.

Kevon Looney got the start on Friday and helped Green contain the Grizzlies’ offense, and the Warriors’ power forward tacked on four points in the first quarter to help Golden State jump out to an early advantage -- just two points less than his series-high of six in both Games 1 and 2.

His “too small” gesture to Jones was tame compared to some hand motions Green has made so far in the semifinals, which the Warriors entered Game 6 leading three-games-to-two.

As the Dubs look to close out the series, layups from Green -- and the ensuing fun -- could prove pivotal.
