Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons turned 25 years old on Tuesday.
He acknowledged the milestone by posting the following message to Instagram:
"Reflecting back I’ve experienced some amazing highs and with that, some of the lowest lows. Life’s a journey.. I’ll always remain relentless and remain human through it all. Here’s to my 25 year #Relentlesspursuit (emoji) doing what I love on my bday I’m blessed (emoji)."
Draymond Green defended Simmons in a heartfelt comment:
"Man stop letting these people get in your head young King. Enjoy your birthday, basketball ain’t got nothing to do with it, so don’t let them intertwine life and basketball for you. Enjoy your life and enjoy hoop. You’ve earned both! You don’t owe anybody anything! You have earned everything you have! Happy born day brotha!"
Draymond and Simmons both are clients of Rich Paul's agency, Klutch Sports.
Is there a chance they are teammates next season?
It seems unlikely that the Warriors and 76ers will strike a blockbuster trade this offseason that makes that a reality, but Stephen A. Smith made headlines in late June when he made some eye-opening comments.
"I believe the Golden State Warriors are going to make a push for Ben Simmons. So stay tuned," Smith said on ESPN's "First Take" show. "It's possible Ben Simmons could end up in Golden State with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
"I'm not saying it's gonna happen. But calls already have been made, things are percolating and it wouldn't surprise me at all if something like that ended up going down."
