Draymond's perfect reaction to NBA rescinding Luka 16th tech

For just under 24 hours, it appeared Luka Doncic was set to miss the Dallas Mavericks' season finale against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. But that all changed Saturday when the NBA rescinded a technical foul assessed to the three-time NBA All-Star during Friday's game.

And while Doncic missing Sunday's game for receiving his 16th technical foul this season would have been good news for the Warriors, who are battling the Mavericks for NBA playoff seeding, Draymond Green actually was happy the NBA reversed the ruling by referee Tony Brothers.

Green himself has 14 technical fouls, two away from the league-mandated one-game suspension. But the penalty resets for the playoffs, so unless he picks up two techs against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night, the Warriors' star isn't be in danger of missing Sunday's finale in New Orleans.

After picking up his latest technical foul earlier this week, Green did tell reporters he likely would reach his quota of 15 before the end of the season, and he has two games left to pick up that one tech.

“What am I at, 14 techs?" Draymond said after the Warriors' win over the Kings last Sunday. "My last three are kind of insane, but I guess I haven’t met the quota yet. I’ll probably get to 15 like I do every year. It is what it is.”

Doncic was adamant after the Mavericks' blowout win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night that the technical foul should be rescinded and he was vindicated a day later.

"If you ask me, I think 100 percent it should be rescinded, because it wasn't a tech at all," Doncic said Friday night (H/T ESPN). "No warning, no nothing. I just asked him, 'How is that not a call?' Hopefully, it will be [rescinded], so I can play Sunday."

Brothers spoke to the pool reporter in Dallas after the game and explained why he assessed the technical foul while also acknowledging that Doncic never used profanity during the incident.

"At the end of the quarter he took a shot and he felt he got fouled," Brothers said, via the official pool report (H/T ESPN). "He started to complain to each of the officials. When I was walking toward the table, he was 15 feet in the backcourt still complaining so he got a technical for continuously complaining."

The Warriors enter their game against the Spurs on Saturday with a half-game lead over the Mavericks for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. If they finish with identical records, Dallas holds the head-to-head tiebreaker and would be the No. 3 seed while the Warriors would be the No. 4 seed.

For the moment, Green isn't worried about playoff seeding. He just hopes he'll get some technical fouls rescinded and some money put back in his pocket.
