Former Warriors big man Marquese Chriss officially has become a free agent.

Chriss cleared waivers at 2:00 p.m. PT on Thursday afternoon and is able to sign with any team.

The Warriors parted ways with the 22-year-old after Monday's loss to the Sacramento Kings, the day before his contract would have become fully guaranteed for the rest of the season.

Chriss -- who averaged 7.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.9 blocks over 37 games with Golden State -- is eligible to return to the Dubs on a 10-day contract, and the two sides have mutual interest in reuniting.

"We've had conversations about certain things to try and make things work but I think that's something that I would try to keep between myself and them, just because I don't know any situation that might come up," Chriss told NBC Sports Bay Area's Logan Murdock on Tuesday morning. "But who knows?

"I would like to be here. So eventually, if that happens, I would be all for it."

Before Chriss and the Warriors potentially strike a deal, you can expect the team to officially announce they've converted Damion Lee's two-way contract into a standard NBA contract.
