Monta Ellis was beloved by nearly all Warriors fans.

A large portion of Dub Nation was upset when Golden State traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks in March 2012 for Andrew Bogut.

He still is talked about with great reverence in the Bay Area, and people listen when he talks.

So Warriors fans will love the message he delivered during a recent conversation with team broadcaster Bob Fitzgerald.

"I got the bridge and the Bay Area tatted on me," Monta said. "Every day I wake up, every night I go to sleep -- I pray for the city of Oakland, the Bay Area and the people that were genuine to me. Keep your head up, stay safe, be blessed.

"I love y'all. I miss you guys. Thank y'all for embracing me, thank y'all for adopting me and thank y'all for y'all support from day one. I love y'all. Stay safe. Peace."

Golden State selected the Mississippi product in the second round (No. 40 overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft.

He was named the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2007. And over the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons combined, Monta averaged 24.7 points, 5.5 assists and 2.2 steals while shooting 45 percent from the field.
