Giannis Antetokounmpo names Steph Curry as one of his favorite players

If we've learned anything during the player empowerment era of the NBA, it's that stars want to play with other stars who they admire.

LeBron James wanted to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami and then had a desire to pair with Anthony Davis in Los Angeles. Kawhi Leonard thought his game would mesh well with Paul George, and Kevin Durant famously left Oklahoma City for the Warriors to team up with Steph Curry in Steve Kerr's ball-movement offense.

So, who will be the next superstars to link up and form a mega team? Those Giannis Antetokounmpo-to-the-Warriors truthers and their tin foil hats will tell you The Greek Freak will be headed to the Bay, and his answer to a question on Instagram Live only will fuel that fire.

With the NBA paused because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Milwaukee Bucks star took questions on Instagram and was asked who his favorite players are. He first listed Magic Johnson and then Steph Curry.

I'm sure everyone will take this with a grain of salt and not run wild with it, right? After all, Giannis also listed Damian Lillard as one of his favorite players, so perhaps he'll be headed to the Rose City.

It's no secret the Warriors have their eyes on trying to lure Giannis to the Bay. The reigning NBA MVP won't be a free agent until 2021, but the Warriors' hopes lie in him becoming unhappy in Milwaukee and asking for a trade that they have the contracts and assets to try to facilitate.

Until Antetokounmpo signs a supermax extension with the Bucks, the whispers of him heading to the Bay to take the torch from Curry will get louder anytime the two stars so much as mention the other on social media.

The Bucks entered the coronavirus pause with the best record in the NBA, and Antetokounmpo is happy in Milwaukee by all accounts. But if the Bucks were to flame out in the playoffs -- should they take place -- that could push him toward a new destination.

One that might have Curry waiting for him.
