Giannis wanted to make sure Steph won All-Star Game MVP

Steph Curry was on another level Sunday when he went off for 50 points and knocked down an NBA All-Star Game record 16 3-pointers during Team LeBron's 163-160 win over Team Durant at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

Curry's All-Star flurry had Giannis Antetokounmpo in shock, and the Milwaukee Bucks star wanted to make sure Steph left Cleveland with the MVP trophy.

"When you see a guy like Steph knocking down threes like that and putting on a show, you don’t want him to lose the game,” Antetokounmpo said, via The Athletic. “I thought he deserved to be the guy that won the MVP. I just tried to win the game and make plays that can help my team win. That was my mindset.”

Antetokounmpo scored 30 points, and LeBron James knocked down the game-winner to give Team LeBron the W and send Curry home with the NBA All-Star Game Kobe Bryant MVP Award.

Antetokounmpo wasn't the only star in awe of Curry's magic Sunday as James riffed on the unique talents of the greatest shooter in NBA history.

“Steph, come on, man, this guy is from a different planet,” James said after the game. “He literally has an automatic sniper connected to his arm, and when he lets it go, not only himself but everyone on the floor, in the stands, on TV, on their phones, think it’s going in every time. And nine times out of 10, sometimes 10 times out of 10, it does go in. So to be out there and watch that kid from Akron as well shoot the ball the way he shot it, it was unbelievable, it was pretty cool.”

Curry's MVP explosion in Cleveland is just the latest in a legendary career filled with jaw-dropping performances. The Warriors star went 16-for-27 from 3-point land, made more 3-pointers than every other All-Star starter combined, and knocked down an astounding 475 feet worth of jump shots.

Steph's legend continues to grow, and, as always, he has a fan in Antetokounmpo.
