Mitchell, ex-Warriors guard Watson impressed with Wiseman

Through the first two games of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Warriors have lost by a combined 65 points.

Oof.

Things haven't looked great, far from it. But one bright spot has been rookie center James Wiseman, and others around the NBA have taken notice.

Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell tweeted "Wiseman is tough! Gonna be a problem!!" during the Warriors' 138-99 blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Former Warriors guard C.J. Watson went as far as calling Wiseman "a star in the making." The 19-year-old certainly looked like one on Christmas.

Wiseman played 25 minutes Friday and scored 18 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shots. The lefty who stands over 7-feet tall also nailed three of his four attempts from beyond the arc. He hammered down dunks, drained 3s and had highlight reel blocks.

The No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft now is averaging 18.5 points, 7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game through his first two contests as a pro. He has been even better than advertised when you add that he missed most of training camp and didn't play in a single preseason game.

The Warriors are off to an ugly start, but Wiseman's future looks good as gold.
