James Wiseman is a student of the game of basketball.
The Warriors' rookie center has been impressive early on in his NBA career, but he still has a lot of growing to do to reach his lofty ceiling. So, if Wiseman could reach out for advice from any NBA player or coach, past or present, who would it be? The answer comes easy to the 7-footer.
"I would like to reach out to KD most definitely," Wiseman told reporters Tuesday. "And, well, Michael Jordan came to one of my workouts, so, yeah, Michael Jordan."
What would Wiseman ask His Airness?
"Just how he developed his game on both ends of the floor, his tenacity and his mental aspect of the game," Wiseman said.
You can't go wrong with Jordan or Kevin Durant. Durant is one of the purest scorers in NBA history, and Jordan is the greatest player in NBA history.
Through 10 games, Wiseman is averaging 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He's still learning the NBA game after not getting to participate in Summer League and having a truncated training camp, but his elite talent has been evident many times over the first three weeks of the season.
The Warriors were positively giddy when Wiseman fell to them at No. 2 in the draft and it has been easy to see why early on this season.
A sit-down with Durant and/or Jordan would only help boost the development of one of the NBA's top rookies. That's certainly something for Wiseman to put on his offseason to-do list.
