James Wiseman is well on his way to making a name for himself during his rookie season with the Warriors. While it’s early, he’s had some spectacular moments on both ends of the floor so far.
Despite his early highlight-reel plays, his duties as a rookie still need to be fulfilled. That means doing whatever Draymond Green tells him to do.
“I’ve carried Draymond’s clothes, and I got to take the clothes to his room,” Wiseman said in a recent interview with The Undefeated. “You know Draymond, he’ll say ‘Hey rook, grab my clothes for me,’ and I just said, ‘All right.’”
It appears Wiseman is doing well with doing what he’s told. And the duties are simple enough. You could also tell the amount of respect he has for Green, the three-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion. Draymond’s been taking the 19-year-old under his wing.
During a tough outing for Wiseman on Monday night in the Warriors’ 115-113 impressive win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Draymond had a moment on the court mid-game where he coached Wiseman about always looking back for the ball. Right in front of Lakers star Marc Gasol.
“I told you, if you’re open anywhere on the floor, I’m gonna get you,” Draymond said to Wiseman in a really awesome clip.
Wiseman turned it over on the play in question, but Draymond showed he will keep giving the rookie the ball no matter what.
Wiseman also said on The Undefeated that the chemistry between the two has been great, and it shows.
Grabbing clothes and all.
