James Wiseman has had some ups and downs through 16 games, but it's very fair to say that he has exceeded expectations so far.
The 7-foot rookie is averaging 11.8 points per game, while shooting 50.3 percent from the field and 33.3 percent (6-for-18) from beyond the arc.
And he has delivered several "holy moly, this guy can be very special" plays.

But the reality is that he is nowhere close to being a finished product. And that is pretty scary for the rest of the NBA.
“My message to whoever is defending him right now is that two or three years from now ... it’s going to be a lot tougher," Gavin Schoenwald, who played against Wiseman in high school, recently told The Athletic's Daniel Brown.

Wiseman has the physical tools and the work ethic to maximize his potential, and everybody within the Warriors organization raves about his character and coachability.
But Dub Nation needs to stay patient with the 19-year-old, who has a lot to learn. And it doesn't make it any easier to be playing for a team that wants to win as many games as possible and is not in rebuilding mode.
