Jason Kidd was an incredible basketball player.

Jason Kidd is not an incredible coach.

He went 44-38 during his one season as the head coach of the Nets.

In June 2014, Brooklyn traded Kidd to the Bucks in exchange for two second-round picks -- one in 2015 (Pat Connaughton, who actually just signed with Milwaukee) and another in 2019.

The Bucks went 41-41, then 33-49, then 42-40, and Kidd was fired after a 23-22 start last season.

During a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Kidd was asked:

"I'm from the Bay Area and I saw you play in high school. I'm curious -- are you gonna come back and coach in the NBA again?"

The Hall of Famer's response:

"That's a great question. One day, one day I'll come back and hopefully coach in the Bay Area. This has always been home. Maybe in high school, maybe in college, or maybe if Steve Kerr ever decides to stop coaching (smile), I can maybe help out with the Warriors one day."

Kidd was asked about the NBA specifically, but he went the Bay Area route so it's unclear if he heard the exact question.

The 45-year old went to high school at Saint Joseph of Notre Dame in Alameda, and played two years of college basketball at Cal.

If you want Kidd to one day be the head coach of the Warriors, don't get your hopes up...
