Warriors owner Joe Lacob is setting the record straight regarding contract extension talks with general manager Bob Myers, whose deal expires in June.
Although Lacob and the Warriors have yet to agree on a new contract with Myers, it isn't for lack of trying. Lacob spoke with The Athletic's Tim Kawakami and debunked reports that the franchise hasn't made any contract offers to Myers.
"I'm not going to negotiate in the press, in the media, but I will say this we love Bob," Lacob told Kawakami on the latest episode of "The TK Show." "He's family; he's been here, what, ten years, really got his big break here and made the most of it and deserves everything he gets.
"He has been compensated very well up to this point, in the top three of general managers in this league, even on his last deal. And all I will say is that it is not accurate that he has somehow not been offered anything. He's have been offered several. There have been two offers at this point."
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Dec. 10 that contract extension talks between Myers and the Warriors "appear to be on hiatus." Lacob explained to Kawakami that the ball now is in Myers' court, but believes a deal will get done.
"So he's got to make a decision what he wants to do with his life, what's the appropriate compensation and what he feels it's fair, we feel it's fair and it's really just a negotiation," Lacob said. "To be honest with you, I fully expect Bob will be back and he's a great negotiator."

Myers isn't the only contract the Warriors have to worry about heading into the offseason. Draymond Green's uncertain future with the team is the biggest question that needs to be answered.
The four-time NBA champion holds a $27.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season. Green can trigger the option and remain a Warrior or test the market to possibly secure one last major contract.
