Joel Embiid's status ‘up in the air' for Warriors-76ers on Saturday

The Warriors' road trip concludes in Philadelphia on Saturday, where they'll take on a 76ers team that beat Golden State at Oracle Arena at the end of January.

Joel Embiid was arguably the best player in that game, registering 26 points and 20 rebounds, most of which came in the second half. His status for Saturday's game, however, remains up in the air as of Thursday night.

Embiid has missed Philadelphia's last four games with knee soreness, including Thursday's game in Oklahoma City. Fellow Sixers big man Boban Marjanovic suffered a knee injury in a one-point win over the Pelicans on Monday, and his status for Saturday's game is similarly in question.

Embiid is widely regarded as the top center in the league, a formidable force on both ends of the court. No center has given DeMarcus Cousins more trouble than Embiid this season, and he would certainly give the Sixers a very large boost if he's able to return on Saturday.

If not, that would obviously be a significant loss for Philadelphia, and leave the 76ers very susceptible in the paint, particularly if Marjanovic is also out.
