Poole, Morant exchange brief handshake before Game 4

If a brief handshake is any indication, perhaps Jordan Poole and Ja Morant are all good.

Morant and Poole were involved in controversy following Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals, after Morant appeared to accuse Poole for “breaking the code” when the Warriors guard grabbed Morant’s knee while going for a loose ball in the fourth quarter.

Before Game 4 at Chase Center on Monday, Morant walked past Poole, who offered the Grizzlies’ star a handshake. Morant obliged, and Poole tapped Morant on the chest as he walked past.

Morant missed Game 4 with right knee soreness. His claim, which came in a tweet that he quickly deleted after the game, was also a dig at Warriors coach Steve Kerr accusing Memphis’ Dillon Brooks of “breaking the code” with his hard foul that broke Gary Payton II’s elbow in Game 2.

It’s unclear if or when Morant returns to this series. But if he does, the interactions between him and Poole will be more interesting and much longer than a handshake.
