Jordan Poole and Alen Smailagić were part of the same Warriors draft class, with Poole being the No. 28 overall selection and Smailagić later going at No.39.

The two both have been competing in the G League bubble in Orlando, Fla., with the Santa Cruz Warriors, and Poole spoke about the bond the two young Warriors have developed since joining the organization.

"I just wanna let y'all know that Smiley is probably the most genuine person, he's up there, one of the most genuine people that I've met and that's my guy," Poole told reporters Friday. "I think it was Boban (Marjanovic) and Tobias Harris had a little bond, we might be 2.0, we might be 2.0 out there."

Poole has been a bright spot for Santa Cruz in G League play, pacing all players in points per game (25.3) and he ranks second in total made 3-pointers (21). On Thursday night, Poole set the season-high for points in a game with a 37-point barrage in a win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

The duo Poole referenced, Harris and Marjanovic, developed a hilarious friendship while the two played with the Los Angeles Clippers and then the Philadelphia 76ers.

Smailagić has played in two games for the Warriors down in Orlando, averaging 13.5 points over 14.6 minutes per contest. He made some waves on NBA Twitter after a thunderous dunk during Wednesday's contest.

Santa Cruz is 3-3 and in eighth place overall in the bubble standings.

With the strong duo of Poole and Smailagić leading the charge along with Warriors 2020 second-round draft pick Nico Mannion, the Sea Dubs will look to climb above .500 on Saturday night against the Salt Lake City Stars.
