Oubre calls ‘cap' on Bogut claiming locker room issues

Here's a wild guess: Kelly Oubre Jr. probably isn't the biggest fan of the "Rouges Bogues" podcast.

Former Warriors center Andrew Bogut claimed on the latest episode of his podcast that Oubre found himself at the center of a Golden State locker room issue after the shooting guard said he can "offer a lot more than coming off the bench."

But on Monday, Oubre called "cap" on those claims from Bogut.

"Now I'm not gonna name the player, but I've heard the Warriors players didn't take too lightly to those comments," Bogut said on his latest "Rogue Bogues" podcast. "They basically made it pretty known that Andre Iguodala, a Finals MVP, was OK coming off the bench, but we have Kelly motherf--king Oubre who won't.

"And that was not directed behind his back. That was to his face by an unnamed player in that locker room who was not too happy with those comments."

Oubre has started all 48 games he has played in during his first season with the Warriors. He's averaging 15.0 points, his lowest since the 2017-18 season, while shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from 3-point range. But a healthy Klay Thompson is scheduled to return to the Warriors' starting lineup next season, which would change Oubre's role if he were to re-sign with Golden State in free agency.

"As it relates to next year, Klay will be back and obviously Klay will be in the starting lineup," coach Steve Kerr said on 95.7 The Game on March 24. "I'd love to have Kelly back next year. If that were to happen, it would be off the bench more than likely, because we'd be looking at Klay, Steph [Curry] and Wiggins in the starting lineup."

Whether Oubre would accept a bench role or not is unknown. What we do know is he says Bogut's story is bogus.
