Perk blasts Dubs as ‘victims;' Draymond says he isn't one

Draymond Green and the Warriors are no strangers to controversy. They've had to deal with questionable flagrant fouls, technical fouls and suspensions for the entirety of their dynastic run that began with the 2014-15 season.

The four-time NBA All-Star found himself in the middle of another disputable decision this week when he was ejected from the Warriors' win over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Sunday at FedExForum.

Green and the Warriors were adamant that his foul on Grizzlies big man Brandon Clarke didn't warrant a Flagrant 2 penalty and subsequent ejection. The NBA disagreed as they didn't reduce the penalty upon review on Monday.

ESPN NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins doesn't want to hear it from Green and the Warriors.

"Draymond is no dummy, right?" Perkins said on "NBA Today" on Monday. "He has a high IQ. He knows what he's doing and he knows what to do and what not to do. The only problem I have with the Warriors is, why are they trying to act like the victims here? They're not the victims. Draymond Green committed a flagrant foul two. And see, this is where it goes back to the point when Marcus Smart dove for the loose ball and Steve Kerr had a panic attack and he was so frustrated on the sideline, claiming that Marcus Smart did it on purpose. But all of a sudden, you get to this moment and all of a sudden, they want to cry wolf.

"Nobody wants to hold Golden State accountable. Nobody. Nobody wants to hold them accountable."

There's one problem with what Perkins said. Green already said he doesn't feel like a victim after what happened Sunday in Memphis.

"I play basketball for a living," Green told reporters after practice on Monday. "I have an incredible family and incredible life. I'm not picked on. There's other people that are picked on. I'm no victim. I'm good money. I told y'all on my podcast, my reputation is a badge of honor. Not everybody can earn that reputation. So, life goes on."

Life goes and so does the spicy second-round series, with Game 2 taking place Tuesday night in Memphis. Green is back in the lineup, looking to help the Warriors take a two-games-to-none lead back home to the Bay Area.
