SAN DIEGO – Charles Barkley is at it again, issuing his annual disregard of the Warriors as unable to win a title because of their offensive system.
“I just don’t think you can win a championship shooting jumpers,” Barkley said at a TNT luncheon on Tuesday.
The Warriors responded as they did last October, when they were coming off an NBA championship, by rolling their eyes and casually dismissing the outspoken and often inaccurate TV analyst.

“You shouldn’t expect anything less,” Shaun Livingston said of Barkley. “That’s just what it is. He stands on his ground, and that’s what Chuck does.”

Barkley made the same assertion in 2014-15, as the Warriors were fashioning a 67-15 record and beating the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Barkley’s response was the Warriors lucked into the championship because Cleveland was without Kevin Love and, for the most part, Kyrie Irving.
So Barkley reiterated his beliefs last summer. The Warriors went 73-9, the best record in league history, before losing in seven games to Cleveland in The Finals.
Golden State Warriors
The addition of four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant, joining reigning scoring champ Steph Curry, as well as All-Stars Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, has made the Warriors heavy favorites to win the championship this season.
Barkley remains unmoved, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr shrugs it off.
“He’s good at his job,” said Kerr, who prior to joining the Warriors was a TNT colleague of Barkley. “He’s funny. He’s controversial. I love Charles. I don’t have any complaints. It’s all part of the show.”
