Kevin Durant contrasts Warriors, Thunder fans' reactions to his exit

Kevin Durant’s decision to leave the Warriors was one that many expected, but it undoubtedly hurt a lot of fans who felt the dynasty had more to accomplish.

However, when asked about the reception to his decision compared to when the two-time Finals MVP left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Warriors in 2016, KD made sure to say the two were not similar.

“I felt like some Warriors fans were disappointed that it ended like that and wish it could have went longer, but it wasn’t that type of reaction,” Durant said on New York City’s Hot 97 Tuesday morning.

Granted, KD spent his first nine NBA seasons with Seattle/Oklahoma City, while he played just three seasons in the Bay Area.

We’re unlikely to see any cupcake signs or a chorus of boos when KD eventually makes his Chase Center debut, but we’ll likely be waiting until at least next season before that becomes a reality.
